Please share a little about yourself and your business.
Before becoming a consultant, I was as a corporate lawyer and served for several years as chief executive of a law firm. I have specialised in working with family businesses and family offices since 1995 when I helped found the first university-based educational programme in the UK for family enterprise owners and executives.
I am actively involved in advocacy to improve the overall awareness of the economic and social contribution made by enterprising families. This includes being a member of the advisory board of the Institute for Family Business, which is the UK Chapter of the Family Business Network (FBN).
I regularly speak and write on issues affecting enterprising families and provide strategic advice and training for professional associations, educators and trade bodies. This includes being chair of the faculty that delivers the International Advanced Certificate in Family Business Advising for the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
I am chair of the advisory board of a family enterprise and am a past recipient of the Family Firm Institute (FFI) Award for Outstanding Interdisciplinary Achievement.
